Tom Ivey

Thirty years in human resource outsourcing, across both public and private sector work, and executive management spanning operations, sales and marketing. Tom has held ownership positions at several organizations in the industry.
His work is the operating layer underneath an engagement: designing the systems and sequencing that lower running cost without cutting across what leadership is actually trying to do. That includes building the integrated platform BRG uses to reach small and mid-sized employers.

Before BRG
Three decades in and around HR outsourcing, most of it operating inside PEOs rather than advising on them from outside. That is the background behind the view this practice takes of the industry — it is a description of how these organizations actually work, formed from having run one.
Operating inside PEOs
Chief Operating Officer of AlphaStaff, and later Vice President of National Sales Operations and then of the Southeast region — twelve years with one PEO across three roles. Regional Director at Oasis Outsourcing for four years, and Chief Operating Officer at Congruity HR. Earlier, Vice President at Strategic Outsourcing.
Risk, before any of it
Director of Risk Management and Assistant Treasurer at The Cato Corporation, and before that an analyst at The Travelers Companies. Workers’ compensation structure and classification are not a topic he picked up in this industry; they are where he started.
